FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
PRO-WAR, PRO-TORTURE RALLY – Feb 9th, 2007
by Malcolm Bosman, Patriots for Corporate Rights
The temperature was around ten degrees fahrenheit at four o’clock in the afternoon as three members of Patriots for Corporate Rights gathered in front of the Walker Branch of the Minneapolis Public Library at 2880 Hennepin Avenue on the corner of Lagoon Street in Uptown, grabbed their signs, and waved American flags to passing traffic. As we became increasingly comfortable, we began speaking aloud about the importance of building the economy using our best tools: torture and war.
Immediately one person skeptical of our position approached and criticized our advocacy of these things. The gentleman was soon persuaded to join us when it became clear how sincere we were in our advocacy of this radical yet important agenda.
WCCO-TV Channel 4 News was there to capture us on film almost immediately, but unfortunately, things didn’t really get going until after they left. More people showed up with signs in a short time, and things started to get very entertaining as everyone started to shout slogans such as “Support all war, always!”, "Spend more, think less!", “Cut funding for mass transit and use it to fund the war!”, “Get a job!”, “Shopping is patriotic!”, “Corporate rights are human rights!”, “There is no country so small that it doesn’t have some resource we can use!”, “Dissent is unpatriotic!” and “Abolish the Supreme Court, abolish Congress, the Unitary Executive is all we need! Trust Bush!, Trust Bush!, Trust Bush!” Many more slogans and chants were shouted as well. A bullhorn allowed us to get our message to people down the street. There was energy and excitement in the air.
All told, maybe twenty people joined us over the course of the next two hours, with perhaps eight to twelve people hanging around holding signs at any given time. Watching the reaction of passersby and cars was extremely interesting. Many people honked and gave enthusiastic thumbs up; others (undoubtedly people who did not understand the subtlety of our position) frowned and flipped us off. A couple of tin foil hat-wearing, hippy, moon bat, Commie pinkos even showed the Peace Sign!
Many people reacted with apparent bafflement, although this confusion sometimes melted away as they read more of our signs. It was unclear to us why many people seemed to find our rally amusing. One gentleman, however, was extremely upset that we were out in force; he approached and criticized us sharply and somewhat angrily. Two young women approached and asked us to explain our position on black people. Another person rolled down his window and, in an incredulous voice asked, “What are you *doing*!?" In a passing Taxi, for reasons we never understood, a naked woman was lying in the back seat.
The rally was peppered with many interesting experiences such as these.
For some reason, numerous people approached to ask whether PCR was being satirical, to which members merely explained that we were for all war and all torture that aids corporate profits, and against public protesting of any kind. This seemed to convince them that PCR intends to be taken seriously.
The temperature kept dropping and it was downright freezing by the time we packed it up around six o’ clock, but we were thoroughly satisfied that we had gotten our message out while having an extremely good time
Go to Hell PCR, can’t your big business lobbiests steal America blind fast enough! Welcome to the Bush Nazi Brigade of American thieves! Killing your children for profit!!!
Warmongers kill for greed!!! “Clueless George Goes To War”
Comment by Tom Hutson — March 12, 2007 @ 3:14 pm
Finally someone telling it like it is. The world belongs to the man with the biggest gun and the balls to take what he wants. American freedom is the only reason anyone needs to detain, torture and kill. Really, what more do you need? After all, SUV’s don’t grow on trees, and if they did, America would go to war to get all the trees, and rightly so!
The world is the way it is today because powerful people wanted something and the used their power to get it and keep it. And if powerless moonbats believe they have the right to anything from the corporations, well, they’ll just have to capture and torture the directors of Exxon-Mobil (and their families or someone who knows where their families might be) or whatever to get what they want. It’s the American way!
Comment by Glenn — March 19, 2007 @ 7:49 am
Well said, Glenn. Tom, what we’re doing isn’t stealing because we deserve to have the resources that we take. You may claim such and such a war is illegal, and maybe it is, but that’s besides the point because we control the politicians who make the choices about whether or not to invade. This is a capitalist system, and we bought the politicians under the terms of capitalism, so you have nothing to complain about.
Comment by Malcolm Bosman — April 1, 2007 @ 7:21 pm
You folks ever think of doing this again? I think River Falls WI could really use your patriotic support at their campus.
Comment by El Plunko — April 22, 2007 @ 7:49 am
For a bunch of profiteers ya’ll look like you came right out the unemployment lines. Get jobs, losers.
Comment by wiseFool — April 22, 2007 @ 7:52 am
wiseFool: They’re called winter coats. you might notice I was wearing a three piece suit under mine! What part of hippie warm place do you live? Los Angelas?
Comment by silvester — April 22, 2007 @ 7:54 am
Silvester: The only one in the vid who clearly has any money and fashion sense is the blonde in black. The rest of you really do look unemployed and considering how you spend your time, I’m not surprised. Believe me, if you’re supposed to be a shining examples of capitalism and patriotism, it ain’t selling. You really do look and act like uneducated slobs. Why when I saw this vid I first thought it was from the onion.com! I’ve never seen hippie slobs standing up for Bush and war before. Regardless…I had a good laugh either way. Thanks for the entertainment.
Comment by wiseFool — April 22, 2007 @ 8:02 am
wiseFool: Well, I can only assume you are some kind of moonbat troll. My suit probably cost me more than a year of your wages. True, there were some passerbys who joined us. Some of them seemed rather unkempt, but I held back from critisicing them due to their expressions of patriotism. God bless america!
Comment by silvester — April 22, 2007 @ 8:07 am
Silvester: Realistically, I probably make more a year than you’ll make in 3 years without having to suck up like you guys, but neither of us are going to prove one way or another. But seriously, you guys are a farce of an political organization, right? A parody for the Colbert Report or something?
Comment by wiseFool — April 22, 2007 @ 8:19 am
That’s a disgusting accusation. If our actions on behalf of this cause haven’t proven our patriotism, I don’t know what could. It’s more likely you’re attempting to undermine the good work we’re doing. Trolls from the left are constantly trying to infiltrate our group. It’s a good sign. It means we’ve got them scared.
Comment by silvester — April 22, 2007 @ 8:26 am
Well, you all look about enlistment age. Who knows, maybe you’ll get a cushy Gitmo torturer job.
Comment by wiseFool — April 22, 2007 @ 8:52 am
I’d be proud.
Comment by silvester — April 22, 2007 @ 8:59 am
Let me get this straight. Essentially you are saying “We have the power, we need what they have so we’ll do anything at all, including torture to get it”.
Is that right or have I missed something? Because if that’s true it sounds like you’d be happy for a drug addict to break into your mother’s house, tie her up and torture her in order to get her to tell him the combination to her safe.
After all, he has the power, he needs the money so according to your logic, he has every right to torture your mother in order to get it.
Comment by thetoad — April 22, 2007 @ 10:10 am
You got it all wrong. You see, drugs are immoral. oil isn’t. And anyway, my mother is an American, not an Arab.
Comment by silvester — April 22, 2007 @ 10:35 am
What? Is that supposed to be a reasoned argument? Can you get your mate Malcolm back on the line please? At least he seems to be able to put coherent sentences together.
Let’s have a quick look at what you said though, which is completely irrelevant of course. This isn’t a question of morality. This is about power which you seem to like going on about. Your argument is that the one with the power gets what he wants by any means necessary. For you it’s oil and corporate profits. For the drug addict it may be drugs but who’s to say he’s not after the money to fill up his SUV? Besides, drugs are not immoral to him as oil is not immoral to you. Doesn’t matter – he wants the money that your mother has, as you want the oil that Iraq has. He has the power and he needs the money, so he has the right to torture your mother to get it, as the US has the right to torture Iraqis to get the oil.
By the way, thanks for not trying to claim the war is about anything other than oil, despite what your president says. Kind of makes him a liar really, but let’s not dwell on that for now.
The less said about your Arab/American mother “argument” the better. To pull you up on that one would be like shooting fish in a barrel. I mean, are you actually trying to use racism as a defence?? You’ll be bringing religion into it next.
You’re a funny guy silvester. But I’m laughing at you, not with you.
Comment by thetoad — April 22, 2007 @ 11:50 am
Thetoad: Yes, this is about profit, oil, contracts, and the like. It’s also about freedom. For us to live in a free society, people need to have the right to do what they want, and people and their corporations can’t do what they want when it comes to other countries like Iraq which aren’t free and capitalist like we are. Do you want Saddam or some other dictator to have those resources? It’s much better that we have them, because then they won’t be used for terrorism. Instead, corporations will have the resources — corporations who represent the ability to create and consolidate wealth, which is true freedom. And as a side benefit, those corporations will create jobs for all Americans. Capitalism is about survival of the fittest. Promoting capitalism here and abroad encourages people to produce more. Those who don’t produce don’t deserve to have any resources. The more we produce, the better life gets for those people who produce it. If we can create an American-style democracy in all the nations of the world, everyone who deserves to have resources will have them. So it’s just a question of invading enough countries and establishing American-style democracy there. Either we get a democracy, or we get their resources so they can’t use them against us and we can better our own lives here. Either way, it doesn’t sound so bad.
Comment by Malcolm Bosman — April 22, 2007 @ 4:58 pm
I have American interests at heart, not foreign ones.
You seem to be using some kind of moral relatavism. Drugs are bad, we know this. Oil isn’t. Using power to one’s end isn’t immoral if it’s for a moral goal. Your statement assumes there’s no moral difference between the two, or that it all depends on who’s making the moral judgement. I reject such mushy moral relativism.
Comment by silvester — April 22, 2007 @ 4:59 pm
Bravo, well said Malcolm.
Comment by silvester — April 22, 2007 @ 5:05 pm
El Plunko: Oh yes, the hippie loony moonbat left hasn’t seen the last of us. We’ll be fighting the good fight for freedom for as long as it takes. American values for the world! We’ll be planning our next support rally soon.
Comment by Malcolm Bosman — April 22, 2007 @ 7:38 pm
It’s people like you that require a license to have children. Why do you support a government that is the cause of 9/11, kills their own people for a drop of oil and has a leader(?) who is borderline retarded? Your days are numbered; 2008 will have real politicians in office supported by people, not sheeple like yourselves. since you support torture do you mind if I could have any one of your kind to have my way with? Then tell us how you support torture.
Comment by jay patrick — April 23, 2007 @ 1:47 am
Jay Patrick: If you’re willing to torture, even if it’s one of us, then so far as we’re concerned we’ve succeeded in persuading you, because obviously you agree that extreme measures are sometimes necessary. Lucky for us, you don’t have the ability to torture any of us, but your heart is in the right place. Thanks for your support and God bless!
Comment by Malcolm — April 23, 2007 @ 11:18 pm
While one can defend the right to make a statement, no matter how offensive, I sincerely wonder if your founding fathers were envisioning a day their beautifully scripted charter would be used to justify torture.
I, as well as many others can remember a day when the U.S. was a guiding light in the protection of human rights and freedoms; whereas now it would seem that life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are gifts to be partitioned out by the Gods of Commerce in relation to social strata, race, and religion.
You are an embarrassment to yourselves, your country and any God which you claim allegiance to.
Bravo

Jay Patrick: You’re on the right track. Although I have to say I’m glad you don’t have the ability to torture me or my family, your willingness to do so shows you realize that extreme measures have to be taken in extreme situations. Bless you!
Comment by Malcolm — April 24, 2007 @ 10:03 pm
This Vile propaganda is akin to what the neo-Nazis say all the time. Your blind love for a mass murdering warmonger like bush is like the support by some German factions to Hitler in the 1930s. You say it yourself “All told, maybe twenty people joined us over the course of the next two hours, with perhaps eight to twelve people hanging around holding signs at any given time”. 20 people in 2 hrs, Pathetic. Just goes to show that how alone you people are. When London had a mass march just before the illegal Iraq war do you know how many people joined the rally? Not 20. Not 20,000 but over 100,000. You people are what is wrong with this planet. A poll a couple of weeks ago in Europe put USA the greatest threat to world peace, even above Iran and N.Korea.
You people is what is wrong with the world today.

So you people think it’s ok to kill others for what you want? And this assministration as fooled you idiots once again. You know that old saying in Tennessee and Texas “Fool me Once shame on shame on you fool me we won’t get fooled again” Stright from the mouth of YOUR leader. Just google Pentagon 09/10/01 and see Donald Rumsfailed announce that the Pentagon seems to have misplaced 2.3 TRILLION dollars. It was never spoken about again. And of course they had the (LUCK)
misfortune of 9/11 the next day so no questions about the 2.3 TRILLION dollars anymore. That would make one hell of a pay off wouldn’t it. You poeple ought to go sign up for the military. Who knows you just might take a bullet for some moonbat.

It is looking like we have successfully protected Bush and Cheney from accountability. Americans are so naive and so easily manipulated. Thanks to the spineless Democrats enabling our continued domination of all decision-making in Washington D.C. we are well on our way to total domination of this nation’s decision-making. Power to the profiteers!
Comment by William Bernard Lyon — April 5, 2008 @ 8:29 pm
What an excellent idea! We deserve only what we take. That’s what Saul Alinsky would say. I think we need to get one of these protests going in front of the Tulsa recruitment offices, move it to Senator Inhofe’s office and finish at the Mayor’s office. These three just don’t do enough to keep the price of oil down! We definitely need more torture and we haven’t invaded even one South American oil producer yet.
